Daniel Unger, CFA, CFP

Daniel Unger is an MIT-educated consultant with over two decades of experience in the investment sector. In his previous role as Chief Investment Officer/Chief Financial Officer at Fort Partners, he guided the organization’s financial decisions as it transformed from a real estate private equity startup of eight employees to a developer powerhouse with more than $10 billion luxury mixed-use assets in Europe, the U.S., and the Caribbean. Specifically, Daniel analyzed and advised on every acquisition, construction project, asset and fund disposition, merger, carve-out, equity raise, and organizational and financial restructuring,  as well as hotel operations, debt financing, and tax optimization.

Daniel’s work at Fort built on his experience as Co-Manager and Co-Founder of Edge Investment Advisors, a hedge fund that saw gains even during the Great Recession as a direct result of Daniel’s custom statistical models guiding stock and futures trading decisions.

He received his BA in business administration from Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) in São Paulo, Brazil, ranked the best business school in Latin America. After working for several years at Banco Bradesco, one of the largest banking institutions in Latin America, Daniel studied at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He received his MBA from MIT with an emphasis in finance and new ventures.
